Pre-deployment. Too many security incidents happen in the first few weeks of an aidworker's deployment. Why not prepare your staff before they are too busy to spare the time? Our training Centre in North Yorkshire, with its excellent transport links to London and three international airports provides an excellent opportunity to give staff a grounding in skills proven to help them make the best decisions when things go wrong.

What?
Personal Security. Using a blend of theory and practical exercise, participants will learn how to develop situational awareness and decision making skills that will give them the best chance of surviving when they are in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Security Management. Using Koenraad Van Brabant's work on managing security in violent environments as our starting point, your staff will learn the skills and techniques that they need to design a security management framework for their teams. They will be able to identify the procedures and policies they need in order to enhance the ability of the team to work safely in the most challenging environments.
Contingency planning. Like it or not, even in the best managed operations things will go wrong. This course gives participants the skills and knowledge they need to write effective contingency plans and manage major security incidents when they happen.
Specialist training for security officers. Security Officer, advisor, focal point, what ever you call them, these are the poeple you rely on to minimise the risk your agency is exposed to. This course will develop their skills and expose them to the most up to date methodologies and thinking in the world of security management. Your staff will be able to write security plans, carry out audits, both procedural and physical, and design the systems that your agency needs to mitigate the threats that your teams face.
