The Company
Armadillo is registered and based in the United Kingdom and was formed by Michelle Mackintosh in 1999, with the aim of "supplying specialist security advice and training to the humanitarian and private sector."
The company has grown since then, with Steve McCann joining in 2001, bringing his skills in logistics and security planning.
We are now at the forefront of some key initiatives that define how security training and management is delivered to the Humanitarian sector, contributing regularly to various professional publications and development workshops within the sector.

The Company has undertaken security training for Humanitarian Agencies in: The United Kingdom, Afghanistan, Ingushetia, Russia, Pakistan, Darfur, South Sudan, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Chad, Uganda, Kenya, Iraq, Colombia, Kuwait, Canada, Ireland, Switzerland and most recently Sri Lanka.
In addition to meeting training requirements, the Company also supplies specialist staff to undertake actual security tasks. A company Officer recently spent 15 months as head of security for the UK Foreign Office in Southern Iraq. Our Consultants are currently deployed in Darfur, Lebanon and Southern Iraq, with projects in Afghanistan and Liberia due to commence shortly.
